Chiquita wanted to get people eating more bananas—they’re not just for breakfast. BI WORLDWIDE had the answer by getting Chiquita to come out from under its banana tree to interact with consumers.
Challenge: increase banana consumption, specifically within the 22- to 38-year-old demographic.
The Chiquita Banana Cabana was produced by BI WORLDWIDE. Connecting with consumers at large events and supermarkets, the pop-up retail tour featured an enticing banana smoothie bar. Branded photos were taken with a banana plantation backdrop, driving people to chiquita bananas.com to retrieve the photos. Videos showcased Chiquita commercials past and present. Branded giveaways included temporary tattoos, crowns, recipes and more.
The yellow fruit grower had waves of people come their way. The tour served up 51,950 smoothies — interacting with 420,725 consumers. The website saw 11,860 visitors, and sent out photos directly to 2,803 people. Overall, the tour with BI WORLDWIDE made over 2.2 million impressions with consumers nationwide.
