George Loewenstein, Ph.D.

Loewenstein is one of the founders of the field of behavioral economics and the field of neuroeconomics. His research focuses on applications of psychology to economics, and his specific interests include decision making over time, bargaining and negotiations, psychology and health, law and economics, the psychology of adaptation, the role of emotion in decision making, the psychology of curiosity, conflict of interest, and "out of control" behaviors such as impulsive violent crime and drug addiction. Mike Ahearne, Ph.D.

In addition to Mike's roles at the University of Houston, he is also the Research Director of the Sales Excellence Institute. Mike’s research has primarily focused on improving the performance of salespeople and sales organizations. Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ph.D.

Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Riverside

Sonja Lyubomirsky is Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Riverside. Originally from Russia, she received her A.B., summa cum laude, from Harvard University and her Ph.D. in Social/Personality Psychology from Stanford University. Lyubomirsky currently teaches courses in social psychology and positive psychology and serves as graduate advisor. Her work has been written up in hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles, and she has appeared in multiple TV shows, radio shows and feature documentaries in North America, South America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Russell Walker is a renowned expert on the application of analytics in business and risk management. He founded and teaches the Kellog School of Management’s popular Analytical Consulting Lab, Risk Lab, Global Lab and Digital Lab – experiential classes that bring MBAs together with real-world corporate opportunities focused on data and digital strategy. His most recent book, From Big Data to Big Profits: Success with Data and Analytics (Oxford University Press, 2015) explores how firms can monetize Big Data. It received the Silver Business Technology Book award by the prestigious Axiom Bookz. Saurabh Bhargava, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Economics at Carnegie Mellon University

Dr. Bhargava's research area of Behavioral Economics broadly explores the decision-making of individuals in a variety of economic and social contexts such as health insurance, benefit program take-up, retirement savings, criminal justice, unemployment, medical adherence, and employee reward programs. Prior to starting his academic career, Dr. Bhargava worked at Mckinsey & Co. He holds an AB degree from Harvard University and a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Joe Gladstone, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor, University College London

Joe Gladstone is a world-leading expert in how people make financial decisions. He is currently an Assistant Professor at University College London. Before this, he completed his Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge and was the Fox Fellow at Yale University. Joe's research involves active collaborations with companies and government departments, using large-scale datasets and experiments to understand how we can help consumers to make better financial choices. Scott Jeffrey, Ph.D.

Dr. Jeffrey joined Monmouth University in September of 2009 and teaches courses in organizational behavior and management. Prior to coming to Monmouth University, he taught organizational behavior and behavioral decision making at the University of Waterloo in southern Ontario, Canada. His current research interests revolve around the use of incentives in organizations, both for employees and for customers. In particular, he is interested in tangible incentives; high-end merchandise and travel. His most current project is leading up a research team exploring the motivational events industry.
