Let's celebrate your employees.
Scroll DownMarch 6th is Employee Appreciation Day. Ready the red carpet, badges, flowers and cards. Get your thank-you notes ready to go. Then again, you might be wondering why you need to celebrate people who are paid to do their jobs…such wondering would be misguided. In all seriousness, showing appreciation to your employees should be more than a one-time-per-year event because high-profit firms are also high-recognition firms.
They say strong relationships and marriages are celebrated throughout the year and so should you celebrate the relationship with your employees more than once per year.
The workplace is a complex collision of two worlds. It is both a financial environment where job duties are linked to monetary compensation and it’s also a social environment where workers care about how they are treated. Employee Appreciation Day reinforces the social side of the equation, and ironically, it doesn’t cost a penny. Companies that appreciate and recognize employees well are at the top of the charts when it comes to financial results too.
Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and wedding anniversaries are good reminders and so should Employee Appreciation Day be a reminder…and it could be more…
This year, consider March 6th as more than just a day to remind you to recognize your employees. Consider this year’s Employee Appreciation Day as a day to renew yourvows to recognize and appreciate your employees.
Whether it’s a new graduate just starting her career or a leader in the company, everyone benefits from a workplace that is more than merely respectful. We all thrive in an environment of reciprocity and support. The natural outcomes of recognition are increased levels of productivity and commitment. In other words, recognition contributes to an engaged workforce.
Make a commitment to employee recognition today to ensure that your organization thrives. Renew your vows to appreciate the people in your company that make it happen – today.
