We received feedback from 93 per cent of those surveyed and have developed a \u201cService Anniversary Awards Customer Profile\u201d from the data compiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This study validated a number of observations we&#8217;ve made within the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biworldwide.com\/uk\/employee-recognition-and-reward-programmes\/employee-service-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">length of service awards<\/a>&nbsp;marketplace. Namely, most organisations value and recognise years of service with formal programmes that offer a work anniversary gift or award to the celebrant. Often, that award is one that can be utilised outside of the workplace in a lifestyle environment. This could be luxury items on your employees\u2019 wish list that they\u2019d find hard to justify buying for themselves or experiential rewards that let your employees get out and experience something like gourmet dining or surf lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not uncommon for the employee anniversary gift to carry the corporate identity or the programme logo, but that approach is becoming less pervasive within the gift selections available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study also provided insight into other themes present in current service award programmes, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For service award programmes that offered gifts, the respondents with deep knowledge of the programme metrics indicated an average of 85 per cent response rate for the award redemption.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most companies offer long service awards&nbsp;<strong>every five years<\/strong>&nbsp;starting with employee anniversary gifts at year five, but increasingly, certain industries are recognising employees at one and three years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The majority of programmes feature leadership involvement, including dinner or lunch recognition and reward events, banquets or team events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The inclusion of a certificate, plaque or symbolic gift is also prevalent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading  has-gradient-fill has-gradient-fill-orange\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\">Just how much are your employees worth?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The average tenure for a UK worker is less than five years. Studies show that after six months at a new job, 40 per cent of employees are already disengaged. With staggering statistics like these, it\u2019s not hard to see that recognising&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biworldwide.com\/uk\/employee-recognition-and-reward-programmes\/employee-service-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">employee service milestones<\/a>&nbsp;and implementing other&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biworldwide.com\/uk\/employee-recognition-and-reward-programmes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">employee engagement initiatives<\/a>&nbsp;must be an integral part of your organisation\u2019s strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employee anniversary recognition is a crucial aspect of these initiatives, celebrating the dedication and loyalty of employees over the years. So just how much should you spend on years of service awards for employees? And what are other companies spending on their work anniversary awards? (This doesn&#8217;t include extra costs like shipping, taxes, and company communication pieces that will add to the programme&#8217;s expense.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, there are slight exceptions depending on the length of service. At the one-year mark, service awards have a price tag of $10 to $15. And around the 25-year mark, programme budgets tend to skew higher than this $15 to $20 standard \u2014 often reaching more than $26 per year of service at the 35-year mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compare the price of service awards and employee engagement initiatives with other employee costs, and you\u2019ll quickly see that they make up a small portion (0.05 per cent) of an organisation\u2019s annual contribution per employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biworldwide.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/02\/Square-graphs-and-diagrams-for-new-website-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.biworldwide.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/02\/Square-graphs-and-diagrams-for-new-website-2.png 600w, https:\/\/www.biworldwide.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/02\/Square-graphs-and-diagrams-for-new-website-2-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.biworldwide.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/02\/Square-graphs-and-diagrams-for-new-website-2-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To put this chart in perspective, a five-year service award of $100 will cost $0.0096 per hour or less than 1 cent per hour for recognising over 10,000 hours of great work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading  has-gradient-fill has-gradient-fill-orange\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\">Celebrate service and employees will stay<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biworldwide.com\/uk\/employee-recognition-and-reward-programmes\/employee-service-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Service anniversary awards<\/a>&nbsp;celebrate longevity and are proven to have a positive impact on employee engagement and retention.
