‘We reach beyond our four walls’ is a key BI WORLDWIDE value.

But what does it mean?

It means that we make a conscious effort to ensure the world around us, and those within it, have every opportunity to thrive.

In support of this value, in 2024 we embarked on a new project with the YMCA to renovate its Northampton facility into a home for young people aged 18-21 leaving the care system. Following a successful Christmas fundraising campaign the previous year, this project aimed to further positively impact the lives of young people; an initiative that would bring them A Welcome Change.    

Building brighter futures   

YMCA Northamptonshire was established is 1969 and provided supported housing and youth services to thousands of young people across the county. Significant cuts to Council budgets in 2010 meant the charity sadly had to close its doors.  However in 2024, having secured new funding, the YMCA wanted to reopen its Northampton facility, creating a comfortable, safe and inspiring place for young people to feel a sense of belonging as they move towards an independent future.

This is where BI WORLDWIDE came in.

Transformative initiatives  

Working closely with the YMCA, our Associates supported on the delivery of five key project areas: Utilities, Social, Outdoors, Hygiene and Environment. Leveraging our project management, procurement and creative capabilities (alongside hard graft) we designed, sourced and implemented a range of project renovations, creating a safe place for young people to call home.   

From vision to reality  

Together with the YMCA, we have created not just a place to live, but a foundation for brighter futures and a stronger community. This initiative truly embodies our values and dedication to reaching beyond our four walls to create ‘A Welcome Change’ and we have been honoured to be involved.
