BIW is proud to be featured as a key player in a successful experiential marketing tour that marked a historical moment in commercial aviation.
BI WORLDWIDE (BIW) is proud to be featured as the supporting experiential events agency in a national tour to retire the Boeing 747-400 in style. The tour, which wrapped in December, included four farewell flights and celebrations in Detroit (DTW), Seattle (SEA), Atlanta (ATL) and Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) as well as a brief stop at Boeing, the 747’s birthplace.
Each stop on the tour paid homage to the unique history of the 747 with a series of guest speakers (including company executives, pilots, mechanics and flight attendants) featured on a 3D projection-mapped stage. Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities including a VR experience which highlighted the newly introduced A350 aircraft and the opportunity to leave their signature on the retiring 747. Branded memorabilia was available for purchase including tour t-shirts, commemorative prints and retro flight bags with the proceeds being donated to a charitable organization.
The farewell tour flights were available to the brand’s employees as well as customers who bid for a spot via the brand’s loyalty program.
BIW assisted with the creative development of the tour as well as the planning and on-site execution including staging, production, interactive experiences, attendee engagement and communication elements. BIW also handled the production of all memorabilia items including commemorative prints featuring original artwork by Mark Herman.
