The challenge

A global healthcare technology company wanted to build off the momentum generated with their enterprise-wide recognition program, creating a positive environment of engaged employees, and furthering their mission through the daily practice of recognition.

Engaging employees around the world

We developed an annual roadmap with a series of promotions designed to spotlight recognition. Promotions encouraged 100,000 global employees to make recognition a priority, with specific themes such as Employee Appreciation Day and challenging employees to “beat our best day.”

We developed a multi-touch communications campaign to support a series of global promotions for our client’s recognition program. Each promotion featured distinct themes to keep the experience fresh and relevant, while the messaging was carefully crafted to generate awareness, spark excitement, and drive engagement. Promotions like Summer Games, Gratitude Month, New Year’s Resolutions, and Employee Appreciation Day were designed not only to celebrate employees but to reinforce the program’s purpose and encourage ongoing participation globally.

The results are clear

Each promotion generated an increase in the number of recognitions given as well as an increase in the average recognition given per employee.

The bottom line:

  • 25,000 recognitions sent on Employee Appreciation Day – the most ever in one day! The previous record was 18,000 recognitions sent on one day with a typical daily amount of 2,600 recognitions sent.
  • Over 27,000 logins in a single day on Employee Appreciation Day – up 54% over the previous year which had 17,500 logins. A typical daily amount of logins is 12,000.
  • More than 5x unique givers over the fiscal year daily average.
