Getting the next generation up and running

The foundation arm of a global healthcare technology company announced a 10-year impact initiative with the goal of propelling one million students from low-income communities into HealthTech careers. By creating pathways to meaningful careers, closing skill gaps with targeted education, and preparing future talent for the evolving landscape, the company is investing in both the future of healthcare and the communities they serve. As part of this service, the Foundation wanted to design an interactive, hands-on event to foster young innovators and spark interest in healthcare technology. The event design needed to be flexible and replicated at locations across the globe, with the intent to grow each year.

Igniting the spark

We partnered with the Foundation on the design and execution of an interactive event aimed at fostering an innovator’s identity in students from low-income communities ages 8-12. We partnered to create an engaging and dynamic event experience with a flexible, branded approach. The event also provided opportunities to engage the company’s employees to share their passions and experiences to bring this event to life.

We:

  • Partnered on creative development and event design
  • Sourced event materials, inclusive of the flagship event at their operational headquarters and two additional sites, one in the U.S. and one in Europe
  • Built and shipped event location activation kits direct to participating sites
  • Created event activation elements, including signage and giveaways
  • Led the project management of event activation elements and delivery
  • Created branded swag and developed a process to fulfill gifts to volunteers involved in leadership efforts

Lightbulb moments

  • 250 fifth-grade students attended the inaugural event
  • 100 employee volunteers shared their passion and incredible knowledge with the students
  • Students said it was the “best field trip ever!”
  • Students that typically have challenges/obstacles in school were focused and highly engaged
